May 2020: Blaine High School Virtual Choir Event
We can all agree that 2020 has not turned out the way anyone would have imagined. At Andrew’s Bravery Box, we rely on donations to keep our Bravery Boxes full and were excited about a few community fundraisers we had planned this spring, including a Toy Drive with the Coon Rapids/Andover Little League and a partnership with the Blaine High School Choir for a toy drive/fundraiser at their spring concert. Sadly, both events have been cancelled due to COVID-19. But this hasn’t stopped us from finding creative ways to continue our mission of Rewarding Bravery.
While baseball season has been cancelled, school is still in session and we were able to partner with the students and Choir Director, Sue Zemlin, to create a virtual performance of one of Andrew’s favorite songs: Believer by Imagine Dragons. We had originally intended on performing the piece at the spring concert and students had already composed and rehearsed the choral parts. A math teacher at the school, Beth Dorsing (co-founder of Andrew’s Bravery Box and Andrew’s mother) has a passion for music and sings lead on the song.
We want to share the product here with you today as our virtual fundraiser. Please enjoy Believer (ft The Blaine High School Concert Choir) and consider supporting Andrew’s Bravery Box by visiting www.AndrewsBraveryBox.org/donate
